New Era, the lifestyle brand with nearly 100 years of sports heritage, unveils its first collaboration with the leading outdoor brand The North Face. Crossing the bridge between the streetwear and the tracksuit, the two brands teamed up to launch an iconic pack recognizing one of the greatest achievements in the history of climbing.
Climbed for the first time in 1953, Mount Everest is between Nepal and Tibet, the border crosses directly to the summit. To celebrate the first historic ascent and refer to the special position of Everest between two countries, New Era has developed unique shipping patches to adorn the new collection. Traditionally used as souvenirs or markers of a successful ascent, the shields use the Nepali and Tibetan translations of the names given to the mountain – respectively Sagamartha and Chomolungma.
Inspired by Everest Base Camp and the expedition itself, this 6-piece collection features some of the iconic silhouettes of the New Era cap, including two 59Fifty Fitteds, two 9Fifty Snapbacks, a 9Forty and an Adjustable Trucker. Each style refers to the unique shipping patches, original bright colors and waterproof nylon jackets that have been worn by many who have climbed the iconic mountain.
